A subdomain is part of a web address that is under the main domain, for instance name.example.com. Actually, even in www.example.com the "www" part is a subdomain given that the fully qualified domain name is only "example.com". Each subdomain can have its own web site and records and can also be hosted through a different provider if you want to use some feature that isn't offered by your current service provider. An illustration for using a subdomain is if you have a company website as well as an online store under a subdomain where customers can buy your products. You can even have a forum in which they can discuss the products and by using subdomains rather than subfolders you will avoid any probability of all websites going down if you perform maintenance, or update one of the website scripts. Keeping your sites separated is more secure in case there is a script security breach.

Subdomains in Cloud Web Hosting

Every cloud web hosting package that we provide will permit you to create hundreds of subdomains with no more than a couple of mouse clicks in your hosting Control Panel. They will all be listed in the section in which you create them and arranged under the main domain for more convenience, to help you easily keep track of every one of them. Furthermore, you can access a lot of functions for any one of the subdomains via right-click context menus - for instance, you can view or edit their DNS records, access the website files, and more. While setting up a new subdomain, you're also going to have many options that you can pick from - specify the default access folder, create unique error pages, activate FrontPage Extensions or choose if the subdomain is going to use a shared or a dedicated IP address. The amount of subdomains you will have is entirely up to you because we have not limited this feature for any one of our packages.
